Farm DinnersSpring Dinner on the Farm will be May 1st!
We are so happy to be working with Shannon Klein of Food Blossoms Gourmet Catering to bring you Dinner on the Farm! Once a month, June through September, Shannon will be serving candlelight dinners in the fields of the farm, using produce from those same fields for the meal!
We had our first Dinner on the Farm Benefit for Slow Food in the Fall of 2008. Because the community was so receptive to this dinner, we decided to bring this to you more regularly, on a more intimate scale. The menu each month is set by the season and what’s growing in the field. It will include a beverage, appetizer, soup or salad, entrée with sides, dessert and coffee, tea, or espresso. You may bring your own wine or beer. $40 per person. Come watch the sun go down on the farm, sit at a table set in the fields, and enjoy food grown and cooked with love by locals! Reservations may be made through the Food Blossoms website. Menus and dates are also posted at www.foodblossoms.com
In addition to these monthly dinners, we'll also host two larger, community dinners in the Spring and Fall. Our wonderful friend and event planner Kelly Geer of Blue Sky Creative initially had this vision last Spring. Now with the help of Kelly and Shannon, we will continue to host these Spring and Fall dinners at the farm. The next dinner will be Saturday, May 1st, 2010 from 4-8. Includes dinner and a farm tour. $45 per person. Please email dinneronthefarm@yahoo.com to make your reservation!
Community Supported Agriculture
Community Supported Agriculture has been in existance around the world for many years.A family, person, group of people or even organizations commit to supporting local farms by paying a membership fee for the designated growing season, thus becoming a shareholder in the CSA. The fee goes to the farm(s) compromising the CSA to support their operations and, in turn, each member receives a weekly harvest of fresh, local produce.
We partner with other local farms to supply our CSA members with fresh food produced without dangerous chemicals. We have several different pick up locations:
Harris County: King's Pasture Community Church on Wednesdays from 5:30-7 p.m
On Farm: Wednesdays from 9-5.
LaGrange- Downtown Market on Saturdays from 9-11 a.m.
West Point- The Visitors' Center (train depot) on Tuesdays from 4:30-6:30 p.m.
Our CSA sessions are May- August and September - November. If you would like more information on how to become a member, please email us at jennyjackfarm@gmail.com
Columbus Farmer's Market
Every Saturday May- October we are at the Uptown Market from 9-12. The market is located at the end of Broadway in uptown Columbus . At this market, you can also find
other food producers, goat's milk soap, baked goods, and other
locally produced items!
